Vaccinations & TB screening

Track worker vaccinations and TB screening — hepatitis B offers and signed declinations under OSHA 1910.1030(f)(2), plus flu, MMR, varicella, Tdap, COVID-19 and CDC-guided TB screening.

This module keeps one record per worker per vaccination or screening kind. Two of the kinds carry regulatory weight: hepatitis B — the series must be offered to occupationally exposed workers, and a worker who declines must sign a declination statement (OSHA 1910.1030(f)(2)) — and TB screening, which CDC healthcare-personnel guidance sets as a baseline test followed by risk-based or post-exposure re-screening. Flu, MMR, varicella, Tdap and COVID-19 ride the same registry.

Register a vaccination or screening

  1. Go to Vaccinations & TB screening and fill in the Register a vaccination / screening form.
  2. Pick the site, the worker from your roster, the job title, and the kind.
  3. Leave the status as Due for a new obligation (e.g. a new hire owed the hepatitis B offer), or set it to Complete/In series/Declined when back-filling existing records.
  4. Set Next due when the program requires a renewal — flu annually, TB screening per your policy. The date is stored exactly as you set it; the app never guesses a cadence.

Record a dose or screening

On the row, click Record dose…, set the date, and tick completes series when this dose (or a single-dose kind, or a TB test) finishes the requirement — untick it mid-series, e.g. after the first or second hepatitis B dose. Set next due at the same time if a renewal is required.

Record a declination

Click Declined…, set the date, and enter the reference to the signed declination statement. For hepatitis B the reference is required — 1910.1030(f)(2) makes the signed statement the compliance record, so the row won't save as declined without one. A declined worker shows as current: a signed declination is a compliant state, and the worker may accept the vaccine later (recording a dose clears the declination).

Change a renewal date

Click Set next due… to move or clear the renewal — for example to pull a TB re-screen forward after an exposure, or to clear the date when your risk assessment drops routine re-screening. Leaving the date blank means no renewal is scheduled.

What happens automatically

  • Rows turn yellow (due soon) 30 days before the next-due date and red (overdue) once it passes or while the status is Due with nothing on file.
  • The escalation sweep notifies the worker when a vaccination or TB screening is within 30 days of due, and again once it lapses. (Freshly registered records with nothing recorded and no due date are treated as onboarding, not a lapse, so nobody is nagged during data entry.)
  • The dashboard shows total records tracked, overdue, and due-soon counts.

Tip: register the hepatitis B row for every occupationally exposed new hire on day one with status Due — the row is your evidence the offer was made and tracked to a dose or a signed declination, whichever the worker chooses.

The actual medical documentation — vaccine records, titers, TB test results, the signed declination itself — belongs in health records, where 1910.1020 retention and consent-gated access apply. This page tracks program state only.
