Stormwater (SWPPP)

The Stormwater module supports your SWPPP under the EPA Multi-Sector General Permit (the NPDES general permit for industrial stormwater) — routine and quarterly visual inspections plus benchmark monitoring at your outfalls.

Record an inspection

1. Open Stormwater. Under Inspections, fill the row: site, outfall, and inspection type (routine or quarterly visual).
2. Pick the inspector with the roster picker and write your findings.
3. Tick Corrective action needed if the inspection is deficient, then click Record inspection.
4. Deficient inspections show in yellow; click CAPA on the row to open a corrective action, and the linked CAPA number then shows in its place.

Record a benchmark sample

1. Under Benchmark monitoring, enter the outfall, parameter, result, unit (from the dropdown), and the benchmark max.
2. Click Record sample. A result over the benchmark — or outside the range for a ranged parameter like pH — is an exceedance, shown in red.
3. On an exceedance, click CAPA to track the follow-up; the linked CAPA number then shows on the row.

What happens automatically

The MSGP inspection cadence is enforced from your own inspection history — no separate schedule to maintain:

• If a site's last routine inspection is more than 31 days old, or its last quarterly visual assessment more than 92 days old, the escalation sweep raises an overdue notification to the Safety Team naming the last inspection date and when the next was due.
• The cadence only starts once a site has recorded at least one inspection of that type, so a new site isn't flagged before its program begins.
• A benchmark sample is an exceedance when its result is above the benchmark max — or, for a ranged parameter like pH, below the benchmark min (enter both; e.g. pH 6.0–9.0 so an acidic result under 6.0 registers). An exceedance flags the row and can raise a CAPA.
